The former Brazilian leader has been arrested after authorities found he posed a concrete flight risk while under home confinement.

The ex-president was sentenced of orchestrating a armed takeover in the ninth month and given more than a 27-year term in prison, but he continued under house arrest pending court reviews.

High Court Judge the presiding justice said the action to imprison the 70-year-old politician was a preventative measure after recent developments emerged.
